Digital technology is profoundly transforming our societies and opening new possibilities in education, employment, communication, access to services, and civic participation. However, part of the population remains distanced from these opportunities due to the cost of equipment and connectivity, lack of digital skills, or social and territorial inequalities.
Through its program “Digital Inclusion”, ID Africa works to reduce these divides and promote more equitable access to the tools, services, and opportunities offered by digital technology.

ID Africa believes that access to digital technology is now an essential lever for development, empowerment, and participation in social and economic life.
Digital inclusion is not limited to having an Internet connection. It also requires access to equipment, acquiring necessary skills, using digital services independently, and benefiting from the opportunities offered by digital transformation.
The “Digital Inclusion” program thus aims to make digital technology an accessible tool for everyone, paying particular attention to individuals and communities most exposed to the digital divide.
Our objectives
The program pursues several objectives :
- Reduce inequalities in access to digital technology and information and communication technologies;
- Strengthen digital skills of populations, especially young people and vulnerable individuals;
- Promote access for women and girls to digital tools and opportunities;
- Support communities remote from digital services ;
- Promote the use of digital technologies in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic participation;
- Encourage digital empowerment of populations;
- Raise awareness of the opportunities and risks associated with digital transformation.
Our main areas of intervention
1. Access to digital tools and services
Access to equipment and the Internet is an essential condition for digital inclusion. ID Africa contributes to promoting initiatives that facilitate access to digital tools and online services, particularly for populations that are the most remote.
2. Development of digital skills
Having equipment or a connection is not enough. One must also know how to use digital tools.
The program therefore emphasizes training and skill enhancement: basic use of computer tools, internet navigation, information search, use of digital services, online communication, and development of skills useful for employment.
3. Digital inclusion of young people
Young people are major players in digital transformation. ID Africa aims to strengthen their ability to use technology to learn, undertake, access employment, create, and actively participate in the development of their community.
Training, guidance, awareness-raising, and support actions can be developed for them.
4. Women and digital inclusion
Inequalities in access to and use of digital technology still particularly affect women in many contexts.
ID Africa seeks to contribute to strengthening their access to technology and digital skills, while promoting their autonomy, economic participation, and presence in digital spaces.
5. Inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized populations
The program pays particular attention to individuals who may face specific barriers to accessing digital technology: low-income populations, people living in underserved areas, people with disabilities, or other groups facing social, economic, or geographical barriers.
The goal is to promote accessible, appropriate, and inclusive digital technology.
6. Digital technology, education, and training
Digital technology offers many opportunities to improve access to knowledge and training.
ID Africa encourages the use of digital technologies as tools for learning and skill development, particularly for young people and communities with limited access to educational resources.
7. Digital inclusion and economic empowerment
Digital technology also represents an opportunity in terms of employment, entrepreneurship, and income generation.
Through its actions, ID Africa aims to help develop the skills that enable populations, particularly youth and women, to better seize the opportunities offered by the digital economy.
